How do I install my signed SSL Certificate in cPanel?

Installing a signed SSL Certificate with cPanel

You should receive an email/link providing your signed SSL Certificate from the signing authority. Typically the email will provide a text copy or a .zip including files that can be opened with any text editor to see formatted text similar to this:

This is the signed SSL Certificate that you'll use for installing.

  1. Login to your cPanel front end as the cPanel user or reseller owning the domain you wish to create a CSR/SSL for.
    • https:<yourserversip>:2083 or http:<yourserversip>:2082
  2. In the top search box (may be on the left depending what cPanel theme you use) enter 'SSL' in the box, or scroll down to the SSL/TLS icon, under "Security". Select the "SSL/TLS" icon to proceed.
  3. You should now see a list of options to choose from to proceed.
    • Click the "Manage SSL sites" link, under "Install and Manage SSL for your site (HTTPS)".
  4. You'll be redirected to the next page for installing the SSL Certificate.
      1. Scroll down on the page until you see the domain drop down box.
      2. Select the correct corresponding domain name for the SSL Certificate.
      3. Paste the signed SSL Certificate text (as referenced originally in this article) in the empty box denoting, "Certificate (CRT)".
      4. Once pasting the certificate text in this box, an optional button may appear, "Autofill by Certificate", you may choose that as well.
      5. The Private Key should be automatically pasted/matched into the next box, however, if not leaving it blank should still find the corresponding key if to proper original steps were followed.
      6. The BUNDLE is also optional, however, if your Certificate Authority provided a bundle in your email and suggests it, this is where you would paste it.
  5. Click the "Install Certificate" button!
  6. You'll be greeted with a notification confirming your SSL Certificate installation.

That was easy, eh?
